Chicago - Hot Jazz, Cold Hotel Room

We arrived in Chicago along with a heat wave. We were trail weary and hungry. We immediately found a place selling Chicago style hot dogs. The guy in line behind us detected our ordering  indecision and suggested the Chicago Char-Dog with the works.  We struck up a conversation and he asked and if we were in town for the Jazz Festival.  At that moment we realized we were. We sat together and he suggested some of his favorite restaurants and things to do.  Not only was he a good Chicago travel guide, he happened to be an acclaimed writer. You may have read "China Inc" or his latest work "Shock Of Gray".  Here is a link:  http://tedcfishman.com/    Thanks Ted we . We had an amazing visit.

Great jazz for two nights at Millennium Park.  What an amazing city for art, culture and architecture.
